Artificial propagation of salmon fry in autumn

First, select mature fish weighing over 500 grams. Female squids should have an enlarged and soft abdomen, with redness and swelling around the anus and genital openings, along with signs of congestion. Male squids, when their abdomen is gently pressed, should release white seminal fluid without any swelling near the anus. Second, for optimal breeding, choose healthy male and female squids in a ratio of 1:5 to 1:7. Adding more squids can help speed up the spawning process of the females by increasing mating activity and stimulating estrus. Third, for egg hanging and spawning, place the male and female squids in a fish bowl filled with clean water and provide a spawning nest. Position the fish so that their backs are about 3 cm below the water surface, using temperature differences and gentle water flow to encourage spawning. If 2 ml of 50% glucose solution is injected at the base of each pectoral fin of the female squid, it can significantly enhance the spawning response. Fourth, during incubation, ensure the water in both the spawning and hatching pools is not too rich or oily. Excess organic matter can cause floating heads, prevent spawning, or lead to poor spawning results. Use fresh, well-circulated water, and maintain a temperature between 18°C and 22°C. Oxygen can be provided using fibrous roots, avoiding any plant material that might mix with the eggs. Trim stems and leaves to prevent them from sticking to the eggs and causing sunburn. Also, take precautions to prevent males from eating the eggs, which helps increase hatching success. Fifth, use artificial aphrodisiacs to stimulate the females. During the breeding season of carp, inject 50% glucose solution into the mature female squids. The injection site is the base of the pectoral fin, with the needle inserted at a 45-degree angle. The volume depends on the weight of the female, typically 3 to 5 ml per individual. After injection, place the female in the spawning pool and pair her with two male squids. The spawning pool can be used with domestic fish oysters to maintain microfluidic stimulation. Spawning usually occurs between 10 to 15 hours after injection, and the ovulation rate increases by approximately 40% compared to natural rates. The eggs are sticky, so they need to be laid on a substrate. Use sessile narcissus roots or aquatic grasses as spawning nests. Attach the eggs to these structures and place the nests into tanks with cleared small fish larvae to ensure proper development.
