These varieties not only produce sweeter fruits but also respond well to the bagging process.
Second, choosing the appropriate type of bag is essential. Double-layer paper bags offer good shading and help keep the fruit surface smooth and clean, but they may slightly reduce the sweetness. On the other hand, thin paper or plastic bags allow better air circulation but are more prone to damage. In practice, a single-layer paper bag used for pears—typically 16cm or 20cm in size—is often used for melons. This type of bag strikes a balance between protection and breathability.
