Second, focusing on early weight gain is key. The growth rate of a rabbit is largely determined by how quickly it gains weight during the early stages. The development of hair follicles, which directly affects coat density, also depends on this period. Ensuring that weaned rabbits reach at least 500 grams and weigh over 2 kilograms by three months old is one of the most critical phases in raising them.

Third, implementing controlled feeding strategies is an effective way to enhance both the quality and profitability of Rex rabbit farming. This method helps reduce feed costs while improving fur quality. The process involves two stages: initially providing a nutrient-rich diet (with around 18% protein) until three months of age, followed by a controlled phase where feed quality is slightly reduced (to about 16% protein), but still offered freely. After that, feed amounts are limited to approximately 80% of free access, helping optimize growth without overfeeding.

Fourth, castrating male rabbits is an important step in their management. Since Rex rabbits reach sexual maturity between 3 to 4 months, castration is typically done between 2.5 to 3 months. This not only improves behavior but also makes management easier and more efficient.

Fifth, timely slaughter is essential for optimal results. The best time to slaughter is when the rabbit is around five months old, weighs at least 2.75 kilograms, and has a thick, plush coat with excellent fur quality. This ensures the highest value and quality of the final product.
