Container seedlings for planting options

Compared with traditional transplanting, container cultivation of nursery stock has the advantages of neat growth, convenient transportation, no root damage, high survival rate, and good landscape effect. In the following, we will discuss what containers should be selected for large-scale container cultivation of seedlings based on the results of the “Study on the Techniques of Scaled Container Cultivation of Garden Trees” undertaken by our institute.
The test site for this project is located in the Huamu Science and Technology Demonstration Park of the Huamu Development Center in Jinan City. The experiment is divided into two parts. The first part is the anti-corrosion test of the cultivation container and the second part is the planting test of different containers. The following are introduced separately.
Corrosion resistance of different cultivation containers This experiment selected 13 kinds of containers, each of which was selected for 5 pots. Large containers were planted with big leaf privet, small containers were planted with gold privet, which were stored on the ground inside the nursery or buried underground. . Observe the corrosion resistance of the different materials in the container, the number of waterings, the temperature and the changes in the container.
The results showed that the containers that were stored for 24 months were: special nursery containers, hard plastic basins (underground), soft plastic basins (underground), mud pots, pots, pots, wire mesh, glass steel products (24 months the above). Storage time is 12-18 months: insoluble non-woven fabric, soft plastic basin (above ground), hard plastic basin (ground), bamboo baskets, wooden boxes.
Amorpha fruticosa has only 4 months of decay resistance.
In the test vessel, the storage time of hard plastic basins, soft plastic basins, special nursery containers and woven bags was negatively correlated with the temperature. The storage time of bamboo baskets, amethyst baskets, and wooden boxes has little to do with the temperature and is negatively related to the number of waterings.
The containers for different containers were tested and the test containers were 13 kinds of containers for the anti-corrosion test. The test seedlings were 3 kinds of representative seedlings: Hundreds of red is representative of the extensively-managed species, white wax is the representative of the tolerant tree species, and Acacia is the drought-tolerant tree species. Three pots per experiment were planted. The open containers are placed in semi-underground and underground places, closed containers are placed on the ground, bags of containers are all buried underground, and fields are planted as controls. From March 30, 2002 to March 30, 2003, fixed and regular observations were made on the growth of three kinds of seedlings planted in 13 kinds of containers.
The results showed that the three types of seedlings planted in the eight kinds of containers, including amethyst baskets, bamboo baskets, wire nets, special containers, clay pots, insoluble non-woven fabrics, wooden boxes and pots, grew more vigorously.
The seedlings planted in hard plastic pots, soft plastic pots, and woven bags have a good growth of white wax, but the growth of Acacia, which is a bitter, is poor.
Porcelain pots are mostly glazed pots, and seedlings grow poorly and even die.
Conclusion According to actual production needs, 10 kinds of cultivation containers were selected in this study. According to the practical value, bamboo baskets were used in this study. They had strong anti-corrosion, good seedling growth, low cost, and no pollution. Suitable for medium-sized seedlings.
Special containers: Strong anti-corrosion, good growth of seedlings, and high cost. Suitable for medium-sized seedlings.
Steel wire mesh: features bamboo baskets and large arbors.
Hard plastic basin, soft plastic basin, insoluble non-woven fabric: it is easy to cause pollution without decomposition, but most of them can be recycled and reused, the cost is low, the growth of seedlings is better, and medium and small seedlings can be planted.
Mud pots: Seedlings grow well but are inconvenient to transport, fragile, and free from pollution. It is better to cultivate seedlings.
Amorpha fruticosa: The seedlings grow well, have no pollution, and have a low cost, but they have a short decay time and are suitable for short-term order production.
FRP products and wooden boxes: Seedlings grow well, the cost is too high, and transportation is inconvenient. They can be used for planting ornamental seedlings in large squares and other places.
Pots: Seedlings grow well, have higher costs, are fragile, and are best used in greenhouses.
Porcelain basin: The seedlings have poor growth, high costs, and are fragile and do not advocate selection.
Woven bags: The anti-corruption time is short, the operation is inconvenient, and it is easy to pollute the environment. It is better not to use it.
