Troubleshooting of Common Faults of PY160 Motor Grader

The PY160 grader can complete the leveling, dozing and loose soil of Daejeon and plays an important role in agricultural production. Due to poor agricultural production or improper use, graders are prone to failure. Based on the experience of the use and maintenance of motor graders, we introduce some troubleshooting methods for common faults of PY160 graders. 1. Exclusion of engine failure. 1 When the engine cannot start, it is usually caused by air or fuel filter plugging in the fuel system, insufficient power supply or loose wires, and damage to the starter motor. Use clean air, clean tubing or filters, charge, tighten wires, replace starter motor, etc. to troubleshoot. 2 When the engine oil pressure is abnormal, you should first check whether the amount of oil in the engine bottom case is appropriate. Then, check whether the oil filter is clogged and whether the oil pump is damaged, and then clean or replace it as appropriate. 3 When the engine water temperature is too high, first check whether the cooling water is enough, and then check whether the thermostat is damaged, whether the engine water line is blocked, and then replace or clean according to the situation. 2. Torque converter troubleshooting. 1When the torque converter operating pressure and outlet pressure are too low, check whether the oil level is too low, whether the operating pressure valve or the outlet pressure valve is stuck in the open position, whether the hydraulic pump is damaged, etc., and then exclude the fault condition. . 2 When the torque converter oil temperature is too high, there are two causes of the fault: one is the dimensional error of the main components of the torque converter, causing interference between the pump impeller, the turbine, and the stator, causing temperature rise. In this case, the transmission oil is usually accompanied by a small amount of aluminum. When troubleshooting this type of fault, the torque converter should be dismantled to repair or replace the faulty component. Second, damage to the individual parts of the torque converter will cause the oil temperature to rise. Due to the eccentric force of components such as impellers and turbines that rotate at a high speed in the torque converter, or the poor lubrication of the center bearing due to centrifugal force, the bearings are damaged, and the frictional heat of the turbine, pump wheel, etc. causes the oil temperature to rise. At this time there is aluminum in the oil and the amount is slightly more, the oil temperature rises sharply, and the failure of the drive and the speed drop will also occur. After such a failure, the torque converter should be overhauled and damaged parts replaced. 3. Troubleshooting of the main clutch. When the PY160 grader gearbox is difficult to shift, the main clutch is not completely separated, the gear shift produces a large gear impact (especially on reinstalled clutches), or slippage occurs, which is generally due to the separation of the main clutch. Inadequate clearance between the disc and the release bearing. Failure of the main clutch is often caused by adjustment errors. In the process of adjusting the main clutch, in addition to ensuring that the distance between the one-way thrust bearing and the separation disc is 2.5 mm, the following points should also be noted: 1 In measuring the outer end face of the main clutch separation disc and the outer end face of the friction disc hub When the distance L is between, the end face of the separation disc should be measured at the same time, and the swing should be controlled between 0.15 mm and -0.20 mm. 2 Since the main clutch is supported by the four separation claws, the separation plate may have a gap between one or two separation claws and the separation plate during the adjustment process. Therefore, after adjusting the L and end face swing, apply the hand to press the disc in all directions, and if there is a phenomenon of “leaked leg”, it should be eliminated in time. 3 The friction disc of the machine is made of steel core plate with copper-base powder metallurgy material on both sides. If the friction disc is burned and new products need to be replaced, copper-based powder metallurgy must be applied on the friction surface of the active plate and the pressure plate. Polished to prevent sticking to the friction material of the new disc. 4. Blade cutter slewing mechanism troubleshooting. 1 The meshing clearance between the drive gear and the ring gear is large. When overhauling, first check and adjust the meshing clearance between gears. If the clearance is too large, the position of the rotating ring gear should be adjusted by adjusting the bolts or the gears should be changed so that the meshing clearance meets the standard of use. 2 Rotary arm fractures at the weld. The gear clearance should be adjusted first, and then repaired as follows: First, identify the relative positions of the two swivel arm. If you use the original repair, and can identify the original welding position, then the original welding position can be welded well. If you replace the new swivel arm (or drive shaft) or use the original to repair but not easy to find the original welding position, then you must re-find the relative position of the two swivel arm, and then welding repair work. Adjust the relative position of the rotary follower valve and the two rotary joint arms. 5. Work and steering hydraulic system troubleshooting. 1 When it is found that the grader's operation and steering system are not working, you should first check whether the hydraulic oil level is in the middle of the dipstick. If the hydraulic oil level is correct, you should consider whether the hydraulic pump is damaged. 2 When the multi-way valve is actuated and the grader has no steering action, the priority valve may be clogged. Generally, the fault can be eliminated after cleaning. 3 When all the valves in the valve are slow, the overload valve may be blocked or the hydraulic system may leak. The overload valve should be cleaned or the damaged seal replaced. 4 When the blade lifting cylinder is slowly raised or automatically descends, the cause of the failure is: the failure of the bidirectional hydraulic lock, the internal leakage of the hydraulic cylinder, and the replacement of the bidirectional hydraulic lock or the seal in the hydraulic cylinder can eliminate the malfunction. 5 If the grader turns heavily, check whether the priority valve is blocked.
