Acacia wilt disease prevention and treatment

First, symptoms of Acacia infected with wilt disease leaves wilting, sagging, drying and shrinking, after the leaves fall off, branches dead. Some have one or two branches or a few branches show symptoms, some half branches withered, and the whole plant withered when severe. A full circle of discoloration rings appeared on the cross-sections of the trunks and branches, and the cortex of the roots of infected plants turned brown and rot. Under wet conditions, a cinnamon to white powdery mildew layer can be produced in the skin of the diseased tree trunk and bark.
Second, the onset of pathogenic bacteria in the soil, sick tissues and seeds in the residue, directly from the underground root invasion or invasion through the wound, causing the plant to die. In the nursery, the roots of the diseased seedlings were intact, but the cut-offs became dry. After being cut longitudinally, the interior had become brown. Bacteria can also be isolated from brownish sapwood, and clipping is one of the pathways for pathogen invasion. The disease is a systemic invasive disease that can occur throughout the entire growing season. Symptoms may occur in May and the onset of disease may occur from June to August. The disease can persist until October. High temperature and high humidity are conducive to the proliferation and infestation of pathogenic bacteria. Heavy rain and irrigation are conducive to the spread of pathogenic bacteria.
Third, prevention and control measures The pathogenic bacteria have a wide distribution of pathogens, long infection period, spread through the soil, but also a systemic disease, difficult to detect the early stages of the disease, once the symptoms are difficult to save, so to prevent the main, comprehensive prevention.
1. Selecting a suitable planting location Acacia grows well in loose soil, but the soil on the street is solid and poor in permeability. Therefore, it is best not to use acacia as a street tree, and it should be planted in green belts on both sides of the road.
2. Strengthen tending and management to loosen soil on a regular basis to increase soil permeability and pay attention to drought prevention and drainage. Try to cut as little as possible and apply a protective agent after cutting the wound. Remove serious strains to reduce the source of infection.
3. Before the chemical prevention and control season does not appear in the growing season, open a hole to water the systemic drug, such as 50% thiophanate 500 times solution, 40% carbendazim gel suspension 800 times solution. When transplanting, use 1% copper sulphate solution to remove roots and apply protective agent on the wounds on the branches to prevent infection by pathogens.
